Arianna Locke was born one of a set of twins, to the former governor of Denshy, Troy Locke and a young assassin, Lise T’iertha, in the heart of Fort Denshwood. When Arianna and her brother, Tyr, were only two years old, their father was brought up on charges of treason and chose death over loss of his honour. Losing Troy destroyed their mother Lise, who abandoned the children in her grief. The children were raised cosseted within the walls of Gold Keep Manor by Lord Seldron Toiverna and a myriad of diverse nannies and care-givers, during the Shadow War. Due to this, Arianna and Tyr have a loose “familial” connection to just about every noble house and family in Eridan. As Gold Keep was a Temple to the Goddess Myra, and a bastion to Larani’s Knights, the children were raised religiously, though the land itself was inundated with demonic forces which attacked the residents constantly. Perhaps this explains why Arianna holds little fear of, and great disdain for such forces. After the Shadow War, Arianna and Tyr were taken in by Viscount Alister Guinan and his wife, Viscountess Elizabeth Greyflame, and moved to Leanantla where they traveled extensively and were subject to the best teachers and tutors that the Guinan’s immense fortunes could buy. Before returning to Leanantla, Alister and Elizabeth formally adopted Arianna as their heir in Eridan. Her brother Tyr rebelled against the Guinans and abandoned his sister upon setting foot on Eridan soil once more.
Arianna was personally tutored by Viscount Guinan (Head of the Priory of Eridan and currently known as Ambassador to Url Kelduld) in politics and Life Magery. The brilliant young girl graduated into her Journeyman-ship at the precocious age of fourteen, the same year that her adopted father gave in to her, allowing her to formally court her child-hood love, Valeck Reynard, an aspiring knight squired under the her family’s close friend and ally, Viscount Sir Maarken Calador. It was also at this time that the Guinan’s chose to return to Leanantla and settle into Url Kelduld, following an offer from the Spire to the mage lord. Arianna, not wishing to leave neither her way-ward brother, nor her beloved, was left as a young adult with the Guinan fortunes of Eridan.
Arianna’s life was an upheaval from then until her sixteenth year. During that time her beloved disappeared, her brother Tyr had simply vanished. and she tried to hold down a home for herself and several young lady friends who were also abandoned to the dangers of Eridan. She continued education under her Aunt and Uncle, Count Cyrus and Countess Araina Dorthorin, in Aurelia. Finally, beset with a demonic, spiritual entity which began accosting those in her home, Arianna fled back to Leanantla and returned, broken hearted, to her family in Url Kelduld.
No one truly knows what became of her in Leanantla during the year she was there, and everyone had simply expected that she had gone, never to return, when one day, seemingly out of the blue, she simply appeared to show up on the steps of the Denshy Keep, demanding justice of the self-proclaimed “Queen”, Duchess Jazani (Tradnor) Calador, and her husband, Trey. Backed by virtually every noble family in Eridan, prepared for and expecting battle, Arianna called the Duke and Duchess out for their misdeeds against the populace and against Eridanic Law beset by the Duchess’ late husband in his Will. What was not expected was for the Duchess to flee with her family, leaving the entirety of ruler-ship upon the shoulders of the seventeen year old young woman. Quickly turning to the Will of the late Duke, Arianna beseeched those supporting her, and her councilor, Viscount Maarken Calador, for help in returning Denshy to it’s rightful state. During this period both Arianna and Maarken were disfavoured by the populace, who had grown fat and immoral under the former rule - many heads were taken in order to purge the city. Arianna personally lead an assault upon the tainted lands of Opharon. It was during this period as well that first Valeck returned to Eridan, having finally received his Knighthood, followed closely by Viscount Guinan, seeking out his way-ward daughter. No one knew, at the time, what exactly brought on Arianna’s breakdown, but within a year of being voted in as Regent until Duke Reinhart Tradnor’s son Phillip was old enough to take the throne - the young woman was swept away overnight to Coventry by her husband, for her life.
It wasn’t until several years later that the heavy dark curls and owl-like amber eyes of Lady Arianna Locke presented themselves to Eridan once again, this time with a small bundle of energy, named after his father, in her arms.
