The scholars who delve into the studies of the School of Mental Powers focus their studies on one single component of the Weave: the most enigmatic Mind Threads, or Kinetic Threads (Cavedale, 541). These threads, rosey-pink in appearance, are the very essence of the abstract concepts of “Conscience”, “Mind”, and “Rationality”.

The apprentice first learns to understand how these threads weave together, between their kin and among the other threads. Beginners are discouraged from attempting any voluntary manipulation of these threads, due to the extremely large risk of backlash - even the slightest backlash could be enough to damage a pattern of mind threads permanently; or, in practical terms, render someone incapable or even mindless.

Only after the apprentice has learned to understand every intricacy of these threads’ peculiar behaviour, and to manipulate the elemental threads of Earth, Fire, Water and Air, does he begin to mold reality’s mind threads to his desire.

The area of Telekinesis is where most apprentices begin their kinetic manipulation studies. Most students don’t ever explore past this area and the basics of Adrenaline and Telepathy; for it is beyond these areas that the odds of stirring the chaotic Weave further increase exponentially.
