Martial Arts

This guide is just to detail the different styles a martial artist can select from, or be taught by either players or gamemasters.

The Basics

.usestyle <style name>, where the style given is any of the styles you know. .stylesknown, lists all the styles you know. Everyone gets punch and grapple.

The amount of AR you have effects how well you can perform martial arts. Dont expect to be able to pull off a trip while wearing platemail. Martial arts work best with leather or studded leather armor, or any other form of light weight armor.

How often a technique is performed is based on a percentage, and which technique is performed is based on their rank of importance. A trip is better than a stun, so if you land both a successful trip and stun, you’ll trip.

After you equip a weapon and attack with it, bonuses to AR and damage will be lost before the attack goes through. You cannot you Martial Arts in combination with any sort of weapon, whether it be claws, a staff, or a halberd. To begin using a style again, you must then do .usestyle <style> with your hands empty.

The Forms

Mantis

Fast striking attack & grabs (Modern day Kungfu).

  • Techniques: Disarm and stun.
  • A balance between offense and defense bonuses.

Monkey

Striking attack with holds & grapples (Modern day Jiujitsu)

  • Techniques: Trip and grapple.
  • Defensive more than offensive bonuses.

Tiger

Powerful striking attacks (Modern day Karate)

  • Techniques: Stun.
  • Slightly more offensive than defensive bonuses.

Dragon

Powerful striking attacks (Modern day Karate)

  • Techniques: Stun
  • Much greater offensive than defensive bonuses.

Drunkenman

Weak attack, strong defensive style (Modern day Aikido)

  • Techniques: Stun, Trip, Disarm.
  • Much greater defensive than offensive bonuses.

Snake

Grappling style (Modern day Judo)

  • Techniques: Grapple, Trip, Disarm.
  • Greater defensive than offensive bonuses.

Crane

Kicking style (Modern day Taekwondo)

  • Techniques: Trip
  • Much greater offensive than defensive bonuses.
