The Facets of Fealty are the virtues upheld by Valar and the Saints, those aspects that a man must stress in his life to ascend into the realm of Yashain. Similar to a chivalric code, any follower of Valar must place the Facets of Fealty at the center of their daily life.
Honor is the nobility of ones soul, to stand by the facets of Fealty in the face of easier decisions; to uphold the good name of your family; to not shame yourself or your loved ones by lowering yourself to petty theft or murder. Without honor, life is not worth living. Without honor there can be no trust in society, and society will fail. Honor is the foundation of every principle that guides the Path of Fealty. One need not be Gentle to have honor, or to believe in honor. To live without honor will pit you against the judgment of Valar when you die, and he shall show no mercy.
When one gives their word of honor, they must keep it. Fealty is the devotion of oneself to those who have asked your honor, and give compassion in return. Fealty is the foundation of Feudalism. One may only break their oath of fealty if their Lord breaks their gift of compassion. Bring not scorn upon your name for failing to fulfill thy duties. If thou take on the service of Valar, it is He that is your Lord that you serve. Let no other man stand between you and He, and let no other Lord curb your devotion to the facets of the Path of Fealty; for if they would wish you sway, they are without justice and honor.
From the hands of Valar are the Divine Laws, those that cannot be broken. The currents of the winds, the rotations of the stars, that weight drop to its natural place upon the earth; these are Divine Laws. In strange times, man has learned to bend these through magick. But not break. Fear not thus that the sun may not rise again tomorrow or that there will be no air for your lungs to breathe; these things are ordained by Valar.
From the hands of those that follow Valar and the Path of Fealty comes the wisdom of Mortal Law. Though in times misguided, society cannot exist without Mortal Law. It is the gift and burden that Valar has placed upon all creatures; that they must live themselves and see that honor and law are the true paths. Know, that a society without law would crumble and destroy itself; know it has happened before.
Those that defy the rulings of Mortal Law have failed in their honor and by the blade or scale need be punished. An eye for an eye or let compassion guide thee, but justice must be had. Know that you shall not be scorned. To kill a murderer is not murder, but the divine judgment of Valar. So long as all actions you take are just, so shall you shine in the brightness of Valar.
In societies where the voice of Valar is lost, often justice will go unserved. Retribution is the task of all of the Faithful, to seek to balance the scale and see justice restored that crimes not go unpunished or unpaid. Walk gently the lines of retribution that it be not revenge; to go beyond the limits of justice is to become criminal yourself. Let honor and compassion guide your hand and the wrath of Valar that flows through you.
There are those within society that are dishonorable or misguided. Fear not to show compassion. Justice will at times feel a burden and seem beyond the limits of your hands. Take favor of compassion. Fear not forgivness for past misdeeds; Valar keeps life onto many even after their transgressions against creation. Compassion is as much a salvation of the self as is honor.
