The Sword of Justice,
The All-Seeing Eye,
Lord of Patriarchs,
The Fire of Brotherhood.
Valar is Lord of the Path of Fealty, the truly divine of the three brothers who resides in Yashain above all Saints and Guardians. It was he that heard the true path from his Father, he that knows the route to salvation, and he that will bring paradise to the universe once more.
Valar is depicted as a perfectly muscular man (the twin brother of Balaur) armored in silver platemail, his shoulders draped with a long flowing velvet cloak of purple. In his right hand is the Torch of Arndu, the flame of brotherhood, which he raises towards the heavens; his left hand grasps a shield adorned with a cross. Atop his plate helm is a crown of swords symbolizing the unity of men stressed throughout the Path of Fealty.
Valar is the pinnacle of kings. His domain in Yashain is the perfect feudal kingdom with the Saints of Fealty as his loyal knights and all others who ascend to Yashain as his faithful subjects. Valar is seen as the hand of Divine Law and the Guardian of Terra, helping to guide men to salvation and return paradise to Terra. Once mortal, he has ascended through purity and virtue to take his rightful seat above all others to help guide the rest of humanity towards paradise.
Traditional emblems of Valar include a lion, a torch or spire of flames, or a crown of swords.
Followers of Valar are prone to wearing silver, purple, and yellow or gold.
Like all churches, the Church of Valar seeks to bring salvation to the rest of mankind. Adherents of the Path of Fealty view honor and justice as the proper virtues required of men that paradise may once again return to the land of Terra. Knights and priests in particular are required to uphold the concepts of fealty, justice, and compassion. Followers of Valar and the Saints of Fealty see their Path as the True Path where as the paths of Wisdom and Power lead to damnation. It is the goal of all followers of Valar to see salvation and paradise returned to Terra by practicing unity through brotherhood – constructing the perfect feudal order in both the world of Terra and in Yashain.
The church of Valar offers a source of chivalry, honor, and salvation to those whose lives are filled with duties. Valarians have traditionally come from the nobility, but the ranks of the Path of Fealty are not limited only to them. Peasants and free-men are openly welcomed into the ranks of brotherhood.
The priesthood and knightly orders of Valar stand as separate entities. The priesthood acts as the source of Valar’s voice on Terra while Knights carry out his biding in the name of justice. Both orders partake in ruling cities and kingdoms. The vast majority of administrators and magistrates who deal with law and justice come from Valarian orders. Followers of Valar act to maintain the peace of the kingdom through dispensing justice and showing compassion and honor. Charity is common amongst knights and rulers, though not required by the Path.
All followers of Valar are held to the Facets of Fealty, virtues they must live by to purify themselves that they may ascend into the realm of Yashain in the mighty company of Valar, the Saints, and all the devote followers who have cast off their flaws.
The Path of Fealty is never easy. It requires that a man be both wise and just, compassionate yet deadly, and always in the right. The religious practices of Valar act as a method to purifying oneself and contemplate the deeper meanings behind the paths. These practices also act as the foundation of brotherhood where knights and priests come together to share their faith and renew their devotion to returning paradise to Terra.
