Facets of the Power

The Facets of Power are the virtues upheld by Balaur and the Saints, those aspects that a man must stress in his life to ascend into the realm of Yashain. Similar to a chivalric code, any follower of Balaur must place the Facets of Power at the center of their daily life.

Ego (Self)

Ego is belief in the strength of your own abilities and prowess. The Path of Power requires you to seek perfection of these abilities. Wherever they manifest, the Path of Power requires absolute allegiance to yourself above all others. It is a difficult path that will often put you at odds against others, but without individuals who strive to succeed and better themselves, society can never grow and learn. To live without confidence or self-belief will damn you from salvation. With it, Balaur will show you the bounties of faith in both this world and the next.

Expetens (Ambition)

When you seek perfection of your soul you must be ambitious; to desire to learn and excel, even above others. You must push to show your abilities to the world, to prove your worth. In ambition you will stand above others and topple men from their pedestal. Cower not at such prospect, but do not revel in it. For within ambition it is easy to slip to the path of the Fallen, yet through it lie the keys to salvation. In ambition you must rely on the strength of your own skills, not the power of subversion. To challenge someone with strength and skill greater than thy own and win through trickery is without pride or purpose and a damnation of your own soul.

Fortitudo Divinitus (Divine Strength)

From the might of Balaur is Divine Strength, that which cannot be challenged. The shattering quakes that tremble the earth and the powerful tempests of air that push forward man’s caravels are part of Divine Strength. Such forces are not meant to be touched by mankind though in strange times they have been subdued and Balaur allows them to change. Such actions are but temporary for the will of the Divine is permanent. Ponder not thus why the earth trembles of why the wind blows, for these are the realm of Balaur and his strength will always exist.

Fortitudo Mortalis (Mortal Strength)

From the might of those that follow Balaur come the forms of Mortal Strength. Though at times overbearing and resultant in war, the world cannot exist without the strength of men to guide it. Above all, men must desire to exist and to survive. Know that without the will to fight the world of men will crumble, know that it has happened before.

Dignitas (Dignity)

The Path of Power is not ambivalent to the existence of your peers. While you should seek to excel above others and many times you will look down upon those who are weak or unconfident, know that this does not mean you can betray them or use them as you see fit. Dignity requires that if you give your word of honor that you must keep it; any faithful that follows the Path of Power should have pride in their integrity. Know that you need not give your word of honor always, but that it should not be denied unequivocally to friends and foes. Dignity also requires that a faithful be gracious to aid that is offered to them, but be not overwhelming in thy praise of others.

Humilitas (Humility)

The Path will show you your own strengths and weaknesses. Find Humility in that there will be others who come before you and after you that are greater men. Do not let pride blind your actions of aiding others. In the path of perfection one must make sacrifices of themselves for their friends, even if it costs are great. Yet, never take blow to your integrity for no man can ever ask such and willfully wish you comply. On the Path of Power there are moments that define the holy and divine of the Path from those monsterous individuals who seek only to humiliate others with their strength.
