The Saints of Wisdom are those mortals, like Jeidali, who devoted their lives to the Path of Wisdom. In doing so, they brought their lives closer to the concept of enlightenment that brings salvation and paradise. Through purification of their own souls they have ascended into the realm of Yashain where they continue to help those of Terra to adhere to the principles of wisdom that may one day return paradise to Yashain, Terra, and all of the universe.
Keeper of the Moons,
Granter of Epiphany,
Domina of Scholars.
Allia is the Lady of Scholars in whose domain lies worldly wisdom and epiphany that all men seek. She is represented as a delicate lady draped in the garments of the silvery moon and dark blue velvet seated atop a grand throne of marble. In her hands are the moons of Terra, representations of her mastery of astronomy and understanding of the universe. Allia is prayed to by academics and those who seek knowledge and enlightenment. Her greatest gift is that of epiphany, granting the most profound of her understanding onto those worthy of her touch.
In mortal life, Allia deftly took control of the Zealan Empire during a long reign of tyrannical emperors and began the Age of the Republic. At the height of its power, the Republic represented academic thought and prosperity through knowledge. It was during this age that art, music, science – all forms of knowledge – flourished. Sharing power equally with other members of the Republica, history has attributed the rise of the Republic’s success to Allia. Modest in her years and wisdom, she wielded her power from behind a veil of harmony.
While the Age of the Republic lasted beyond her death, it was during her years amongst the living that scientific advancement in Zeal truly progressed. In death, Allia was recognized as one aligned with the Path of Wisdom, one who saw the true harmony of the Path. Her dedication to balance and wisdom saw her amongst the first to enter the realm of Yashain in the great host of Jeidali, God of Wisdom. It is Yashain she now resides, aiding men and women as best she can in following the Path of Wisdom
Whisperer of Muses,
The Gentle Composer,
Daughter of Musicians.
Melodi is the Daughter of Musicians in whose domain lies the beauty of music and the wonder of muse. She is represented as a pale young woman with wavy brown hair adorned with white flowers, her body draped in a light green dress, her hands clutching a harp close to her chest. Melodi is prayed to by musicians and those that seek muse and inspiration. Her greatest gift is that of music which can touch the ears and minds of men with greater power than any sword.
Melodi was a paupers daughter sold into slavery at a young age, plucked up by a harem in the kingdom of Aurelia. It was in her subjugation that her aptitude with music was discovered. Her music, driven from the splendor of her dreams, resonated with the very depths of harmony. Her harp could still fury, birth muse, and sing the greatness of art. In time she was again bought by a rich merchant of Aurelia who built a theatre for all to hear her sound.
Falling ill well before her time, Melodi passed before leaving her teens. Her music continued on to inspire those of Aurelia, fostering a love of music and art within the city. A devote of the Path of Wisdom, Melodi was said to draw the very harmony of the world into her music, giving onto all others her hopes and dreams. She now sits in the heavenly host of Jeidali, God of Wisdom, in the realm of Yashain where she continues to inspire musicians and lost souls of the world.
We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
With wonderful deathless ditties
We build up the world’s great cities,
And out of a fabulous story
We fashion an empire’s glory:
One man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown;
And three with a new song’s measure
Can trample an empire down.
We, in the ages lying
In the buried past of the earth,
Built Aurelia with our sighing,
And Zeal itself with our mirth;
And o’erthrew them with prophesying
To the old of the new world’s worth;
For each age is a dream that is dying,
Or one that is coming to birth.
Keeper of Secrets,
Beholder of Mysteries,
Lord of Spies.
Nu’uvio is the Lord of Spies in whose domain lies the shadows and secrets of men. He is represented as a slender but built man, drapped in a dark blue tunic that clutches to light armoring akin to that of a ranger or assassin. Nu’uvio is prayed to by those concerned with secrets - both by men who seek to find the secrets of another, or to hide their own secrets. Nu’uvio represents an aspect of wisdom and harmony that is often overlooked. The subtle manipulator, Nu’uvio is also looked to by advisers and tacticians who seek to understand their enemy and find a solution not through conflict, but through wisdom.
Little is known of Nu’uvio’s rise to saintly praise. A devote of the Path of Wisdom, Nu’uvio was a powerful adviser who dealt with the secrets of others. A master of the spider’s web, he kept much of the powerful nobility of Zeal in check, petrifying others with fear that should they cross the Church of Wisdom their secrets would be revealed.
Nu’uvio is regarded with mixed favor by the Path of Wisdom. No one doubts that secrets play a vital role in understanding the world and maintaining balance, but there is a tenuous balance that must be kept between seeking harmony and pushing blackmail. Nu’uvio’s methods are often regarded as the final step before violence, used to keep other men in check who would otherwise raise a call to war. While harmony is the ultimate goal of the Path of Wisdom, there are times when secrecy and manipulation must be used to maintain worldly harmony.
Nu’uvio’s dedication to the Path of Wisdom and the great service he provided to the Church during a hostile era has earned him the praise the Church. He is often regarded as a saint who now resides in the heavenly grace of Yashain along with Jeidali, God of Wisdom. It is there he keeps a watchful eye over the world of men and whispers knowledge of secrets to those worthy of such knowledge.
Mistress of Beauty,
The Beautiful Canvas,
Daughter of Artists.
Aria is the Daughter of Artists in whose domain lies worldly beauty and artistic splendor. She is often represented as a beautiful young woman with long blond hair, her supple figure garbed in a sleek rose dress. She is prayed to by artists, sculptors, and all those seeking to find harmony through art and beauty.
Daughter of a diplomat of Illaria, Aria was born into nobility. Her aptitude as an artist appeared early on as a child, her art and beauty offering a form of relaxation to the guests of her father. It was during the tumult times during the Age of Terror when war threatened to tear the Empire apart with Illaria in the grips of collapse that Aria was sent to beseech the kindness of the Lord of Napeli. It was there the Lord was ensnared by her beauty and that all his hopes of conquest and fame were tamed.
Aria remained in Napeli for the rest of her life, reigning as a powerful noblewoman. While she longed for the shores of Illaria and the beauty of the city of knowledge, she sacrificed herself for the good of the people of Illaria. It is for her great artistry and humility that she now resides in the realm of Yashain in the host of Jeidali, God of Wisdom, watching over mankind and offering her beauty to both lovers and artists.
Beholder of the Unknown,
He Who Dwells on the Threshold,
Lord of Alchemists.
Memloche is the Lord of Alchemists in whose domain lies the danger of the unknown and paradox that plague men’s minds. He is often described as a wisend looking man in tattered robes of blue, his hands cupping numerous geometric shapes of the universe that float seamlessly above his palms. Memloche is witness to the unknown. His genius is unquestioned, but his wisdom is often associated with madness. Only the most desperate (or the most profound of mind) pray to Memloche for insight into the world. To pray to him is to flip a dangerous coin, yet he is key to the unknown, a mind without boundary.
One of the wisest scholars of the Great Academy, Memloche’s name has many associations. The Cult of Oroborous, the grand deceiver, beholder of the unknown, the key to wisdom; all of his titles are shroud in mystery both meaningful and meaningless. It was during his rule of the Great Academy that the academy truly accelerated its research into understanding the world. His greatest contributions lay in the study of the Earthmasters and the fields of alchemy. Through his appearingly effortless skill, he concocted great elixirs that cured even the most deadly of diseases.
Memloche ushered in a new age of research and development for the Great Academy transforming it from a group of tired scholars into the house of wisdom and scholarship it is now associated with. With all his efforts, he pushed mankind towards a more peaceful time where wisdom was held in great regard. At the peak of his power, however, Memloche disappeared without trace. Perhaps victim to his own research, or perhaps a humble mind who knew his service was complete, the Great Academy continued on without his presence. It is for his efforts in saving the lives of others and his quest for wisdom that Memloche is recognized as a saint of the Path of Wisdom. He now resides in the realm of Yashain in the host of Jeidali, God of Widom, offering his profound wisdom to those who would dare ask his insight.
